Okanagan Real Estate

There are many great areas in the Okanagan to live...

and you'll want to find the area that best suits your lifestyle and needs. The population of Kelowna is about 115,000 people and growing. This is an ideal size as it means that there are enough people with varied interests that there's something to appeal to everyone.  And yet it's has maintained a small town feel where people are friendly and willing to lend a hand.

Kelowna extends from Oyama in the North to Peachland in the South. West Kelowna recently incorporated and is now it's own city that's located in the what used to be called Westbank.

There are different reasons that people choose to live in the Okanagan Valley.

Some want to be close to the international airport which has daily direct flights to and from Vancouver, Calgary, Seattle and Toronto.  Others wish to locate on the West side of the lake (West Kelowna) to be close to the Coquihalla highway and be only a 4 hour drive from the city of Vancouver.

Many people when moving to the Okanagan Valley want to have a view of our famous lake.  The most dramatic lakeviews tend to be from the Upper Mission, Lakeview Heights and West Kelowna Estates.  Some people prefer having a view of the city, the lake and orchards too - and in that case we suggest South East Kelowna, Dilworth or Lake Country.

Having a well equipped hospital and thriving arts and cultural district is another reason to move to the Okanagan and some people choose to located within walking distance to those things.  In that case we suggest Kelowna South and Kelowna North.

Kelowna has a wonderful school system and we are fortunate to have some amazing teachers.

Many families look to be in a neighbourhood with a school nearby and we have lots of those too.  The Upper Mission was fortunate to have a new school open in September of 2009 which has cutting edge technology (Chute Lake Elementary) and there are many other schools that are equally good.  French Immersion is well supported here in the Okanagan and there several dual language schools to choose from.

Golf is another reason that people move to the Okanagan and we have many communities situated on a golf course and many more that are near.  Kelowna has some incredible golf courses - many championship courses along with some that are great for the occasional golfer.

If you'd like details on the neighbourhoods that would best suit your wants and needs, please let us know! We are very proud to live here in and love helping people make Kelowna home.
