New-housing prices rise
Climbed 0.4 per cent in November following 0.3-per-cent increase in October

Ottawa - The New Housing Price Index rose 0.4 per cent in November following a 0.3-per-cent increase in October.
Statistics Canada reports the monthly index has been steadily increasing since July.
Between October and November, prices increased the most in St. Catharines - Niagara (up 1.4 per cent), Quebec City (0.9) and St. John's and Windsor (both up 0.7 per cent).
Of the 21 cities surveyed, three recorded monthly declines in new housing prices: Hamilton and Saskatoon (both down 0.2 per cent), and Greater Sudbury and Thunder Bay (both down 0.1).
Year over year, the New Housing Price Index was down 1.4 per cent in November following a 2.1-per-cent decline in October.
New housing prices continued to fall in Western Canada, although at a slower pace than in previous months.
